FAMILY HOMESTEADING & OFF THE GRID BLOG HOP #47
Happy Homesteading New Year!
We're thinking of what projects we have lined up for 2020, at least, those we plan to get underway.
Last year saw us build the garden/potting shed, put in terraced steps to the lake, start a bee yard and tap our maple trees for the first time.
This year, our plans include building a she-shed/writing cabin down by the lake, putting in a strawberry bed for the garden, removing some fallen trees around the homestead, trapping a bee swarm, and taking a vacation in the summer.
- We're attempting the pantry challenge this month. Using only what we have on hand, with the exception of perishables and true necessities.
- We are limiting our credit card usage even further to not using them at point of sale. They will be for recurring billings only.
- Increasing our income in small, stress-free and manageable ways.
- Reducing our online time, particularly from our phones.
Of course, we'll continue to do what worked for us in the past. Raising broilers and egg hens, keeping a healthy guinea fowl flock, maintaining a productive garden, limit our spending and being good neighbors.
The idea is not to change, but rather to incorporate habits and behaviors that improve our lives.
We are excited to share our new and old experiences with you, our online homesteading community, and would love to hear what plans you have for the new year.
Cheers!
Todd & Wendie
