FARM FRESH TUESDAYS BLOG HOP #29
It may be getting colder outside, but the woodshed is fired up with activity and we're working diligently at getting ready for spring orders. Today, it was a 10-frame langstroth, with a medium super and two deep brood boxes. Tomorrow, the artwork for the sides. These days, the designs tend to follow a more Americana arts-n-crafts feel, but always with a distinct queen bee as a center piece.
Bering self-employed means finding little ways to pump-up the income streams. Building beehives and crafting cutting boards is just one way. We also sub-contract out as teachers, run three businesses from the house and look for free-lance writing opportunities. In short, all of our eggs aren't in one basket.
We're thankful for the way our lives have come together, where we can spend much more quality time together rather than scrapping at a 9-5 (or worse) schedule working for someone else for less money. This winter, expect to see more than one straight-shooting post on how it's done.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone:)
Cheers!
