Family Homesteading & Off the Grid Blog Hop #38

family homesteading off the grid blog hop

As we live in a blended family, there are other adults in the wings who tend to exercise their rights on occasion. As it so happened this holiday season, the kids will be with their other parents this year. Thanksgiving will see Wendie and I stepping out of the kitchen and trying a night our for dinner. We aren't sure what our exact plans are as of yet, but chances are it will be something special.

We will, of course, be putting together a Thanksgiving spread when all the kids are back home, but without the pomp and polish of a full centerpiece, top-to-bottom cleaning of the house or fancy clothes. Turkey's drop in price after the 26th, veggies will be bountiful and we'll be looking for bargains to store for later this winter.

We wish all of you a special Halloween and a strong finish to October.

Our featured blog post from last week is from Chelsea over at the Green Acre Homestead. She brings up some good points about homesteading burnout and ways (and very good reasons) we should be looking at maintaining our health and happiness beyond the work load.
