The kitchen smells amazing these days. We've put up a good amount of our garden produce, mostly in the form of sauces, but with peaches coming in we've switched gears to the sweeter tastes of life. Today, we're putting up peach butter and peach honey. Yesterday, it was canned peaches for crumbles and pies later on this winter.

All of this means a few things in relation to the garden. The squashes will be harvested soon, as well as the parsnips and remaining tomatoes. The garlic needs to be planted soon before the frost frost, and the beds need to be cleaned out in preparation for next season. But not this Friday.

Tomorrow, we're heading out to the Deerfield Fair, our favorite ag fair of the season. You can find the kids on the midway and Wendie and I rumbling happily through the 4-H barns and related environs. Have a good one!

Our featured blog post from last week is from Kelly over at Jelli Noms- she posted a delicious and simple instant pot minestrone soup recipe just in time for fall. With our bounty of veggies this season, we will be sure to add this one to the list. Congrats!
