FAMILY HOMESTEADING AND OFF THE GRID BLOG HOP #27

The tomatoes peeked out a little red yesterday, and we're on top of things and ready to go as soon as they are. The purple potatoes were harvested Tuesday, and with a week to cure, they are sitting patiently in our darkened guest bathroom undisturbed. The squashes and watermelons are looking strong, and the onions seem to be ready though we're just not ready to pull the trigger on them.

Yesterday, the guinea hens all were let out of their coop at the same time for the first time, and miraculously, they all returned at dusk. We might well have trained them properly! The kids start school in a couple of weeks, and that means we also have the Deerfield Fair to look forward to.

Happy end of summer, everyone!
