FAMILY HOMESTEADING AND OFF THE GRID BLOG HOP #25
Well, the heat wave passed and we're all in one piece. The bees made it through with a little inventive cooling down on our part, and the garden was well soaked from the following rain showers and ready to start ripening. We came to a conclusion a few nights ago that we need a small break, so this weekend the kids are staying with a relative and Wendie and I are focusing on some fun for us. Friday is a fancy dinner in Concord, Saturday is a too-long-in-coming road trip to Vermont and Sunday, well, I think we'll take a down day.
It's time to recharge, and since we don't have someone short-notice to watch the animals, this is our solution. It's been too long since we've had some time alone, and this is a nice reminder of our love for each other.

!!!Featured Post from Last Week!!!
Our featured blog post from last week is from Sunshine over at Ridge Haven Homestead. Despite my grumbling last week, we are seeing good quantities of blueberries and raspberries coming in, and with the kids along for the ride, Sunshine's post was just the thing. Congrats!

I hope that a few people get inspired to try a couple of the suggestions for making berry picking more sane!
Great Hop, again!
Thanks for hosting, and for being an honest-to-goodness homesteading family.
